With dozens of LGBTQ+ groups, events, and organizations it is easy to feel welcome in this city. Pride flags fly freely and many businesses proudly advertise their allyship. Make yourself at home Downtown where you will find several gay bars and nightclubs, or if you are a bit more laid back, head to Brown's Addition. This is the oldest neighborhood in the city, with every street dappled with large trees and even bigger Victorian mansions. Although not specifically a 'gayborhood', this area is absolutely stunning and offers a sense of charm and romanticism.
Generally, we would say to visit during the summer as there are several queer-centric festivals and events including the annually-anticipated Rainbow Pride. Beyond art and music festivals, the outdoor adventuring possibilities are endless. Take a boat trip down the Spokane River or hike up the top of Mt. Spokane for some truly breathtaking views. If you do happen to find yourself visiting during the winter, be sure to get tickets to the GLBT Film Festival and enjoy queer-driven cinema!
